How to read this: we read your page as plain text, the way most AI assistants do — so anything your site loads with JavaScript after the page opens won't be counted here (Google is the exception). If your score looks low but your page looks rich in a browser, that gap is usually the reason — and it's worth knowing, because it's what those assistants see too.

What is an AI-search
readiness audit?

Last updated 2026-07-06

An AI-search readiness audit checks whether AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google's AI answers — can find your page, understand what it's about, and trust it enough to quote or recommend. It looks at whether they're allowed to read it, whether it's clearly labelled and organised, how current and well-sourced it looks, and how fast it loads — then scores how likely AI is to point people to you.

Why it matters
  • Adding citations and quotation sources boosts a page's visibility in AI answers by up to 40%, per Princeton's GEO study (KDD 2024); adding statistics adds ~37%.
  • The same study found keyword stuffing reduces AI visibility by ~10% — structure and sourcing beat repetition.
  • A new kind of file called llms.txt gives AI a short, guided tour of your site — this audit checks whether you have one.
  • We also check for the hidden labels (called schema.org markup) that AI leans on to tell what a page is — a business, an article, an FAQ, a product or a how-to.
How to use it

Your to-do list is sorted with the highest-impact fix on top. Work down it yourself — or have us handle the whole thing for you.

FAQ

What the scan does
(and doesn't).

No black box: five areas, a score you can see the maths behind, and only what’s already public on your page.

What does the audit actually check?

It looks at five things that decide whether AI assistants can use your page: whether they’re allowed to read it at all, whether it carries the hidden labels that tell AI what it is, how clearly it’s organised (headings, lists, FAQs), how current and well-sourced it looks, and how fast it loads. Together these make up your 0–100 score.

Why does this matter for my business?

More and more people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI for a recommendation instead of scrolling search results — and roughly 45% of Google searches now show an AI answer at the top. If those assistants can’t read or trust your site, they hand the customer to a competitor they can.

Can I re-check after I make changes?

Yes — that’s the point. The score is consistent, so the same page always gets the same result. Make a fix, run it again, and watch your score move. It’s a simple way to see your progress.

Can it check pages behind a login?

No — and that’s on purpose, because AI assistants can’t see them either. If your best content sits behind a login or form, that’s worth knowing: to AI, it may as well not exist.
